What a night!!
Thank you to all who came to Beyond the Notes in Concord, MA on April 5, 2019!
I can’t begin to describe what a joy it was to have PUBLIQuartet in Concord last Friday for the 5th-anniversary concert of Beyond the Notes! We had a wild program, the energy on stage was amazing and the backdrop was stunning with artwork by Kathy DeFlice-Secor generously lent by Powers Gallery.
I’m so grateful to everyone who came to 51 Walden to share this experience with us and also to everyone who made the evening possible.
In case you missed the show, here are some interesting facts that were revealed from a few of the questions answered on stage:
PUBLIQuartet started as a result of all the players playing a terrible gig in NYC together. Even though the gig was bad, they realized they loved playing together and decided to give the string quartet a go!
Jannina originally wanted to play the bass.
Nick has broken a string a few times on stage. PUBLIQuartet has a piece they can play without him in the event he needs to go backstage to replace it.
Community Engagement at Life Care Center in Acton, MA
Community engagement is a very important part of Beyond the Notes and I’m thrilled that Jannina was able to come a day early to play some violin duo concerts with me at Life Care Center in Acton and Carelton Willard Village in Bedford.
A lot of exciting things are in the works for Beyond the Notes. Please stay tuned and be sure to sign up on our mailing list to receive updates!
